Kansas 2 Katochi is a TESICO Passion Project - an organization that helps provide much needed resources to Katochi. Education matters deeply, and when children stop going to school because it’s physically unbearable to sit in a classroom, the consequences are devastating. Particularly, in rural areas where education isn’t about a graduation party, a trip, or even a certificate—it’s about opportunity and the prospect of supporting their community and becoming economically independent.
Our first initiative was aimed to collaborate with local officials to install heating and air conditioning units in each classroom and the kitchen of The First Elementary School of Katochi. We are proud to announce that Phase I of this project has successfully been completed! We have upgraded electrical systems and provided cooling/heating units to 4 classrooms and the kitchen! We are hopeful to roll out Phase II in April 2026 when the remainder of electrical upgrades and units will be installed and the First Elementary School project will be completed just in time for summer programs!
